#1 JENNIFER DIAZ 4.2358 GPA

Jennifer Diaz is the daughter of Maria Guadalupe and Vicente Diaz.  While at Rubidoux High School, Jennifer has been involved in ASB, National Honor Society, School Site Council, the Rubidoux Early College High School program, the Advanced Placement program, Spanish Club, Science Club, Chamber Choir, Interact Club, Video Club, has been the yearbook editor, president of the Christian Club, captain of the Dance Club, Class Council president all four years of high school, a member of the Riverside County Second District Youth Advisory Council Office of Supervisor John Tavaglione, and has been involved in swim and track and field as well as varsity cross country for four years.  She has also been actively involved in various volunteering opportunities in the community.  She has received recognition as a Fabulous Falcon, Mountain Valley League Cross Country All-League, and received second place at the Jurupa Unified School District Science Fair.  Jenny, as she is known on campus, plans to attend the University of California, Los Angeles in hopes of one day establishing a non-profit organization to benefit third world countries.  She would like to thank her cross country coach and chemistry teacher, Dr. Chann, for encouraging her to run her heart out in every race, and Mrs. Salazar, the Christian Club advisor, for her comforting words and open heart.  Jenny would also like to thank her parents for their unconditional love, and her dear friend, Grace Gonzalez, who is watching from above, and who inspired Jenny to stay strong and live out her dreams.



#2 ALEXIS MARTINEZ 4.2161 GPA

Alexis Martinez is the daughter of Richard and Socorro Martinez.  While at Rubidoux High School, Alexis has been involved in the Rubidoux Early College High School program, the Advanced Placement program, Class Council, Interact Club, RHS Cares Club, Spanish Club, Academic Decathlon, and was captain of the cross country and swim teams.  She has received recognition for highest CST scores at Rubidoux High School, perfect attendance, is a College Board Advanced Placement Exam Scholar, Girls’ State nominee, Rotary Youth Leadership Award alternate, placed first and second at the Jurupa Unified School District 24th and 26th Annual Science and Engineering Fairs respectively, and received a Rubidoux Early College High School Excellence Award.  Alexis plans to attend the University of California, Los Angeles to pursue a degree in biology in hope of one day helping athletes as a physician in sports medicine.  Alexis would like to thank her parents for always supporting her and showing her that she was capable of achieving all her goals with hard work.  Thank you, mom and dad!





#3 CHRISTINE HERNANDEZ 4.1905 GPA

Christine Hernandez is the niece of Sharlene Hernandez.  While at Rubidoux High School, Christine has been involved in Photo Club, Spanish Club, Christian Club, Interact Club, Class Council, choir, Dance Team, Science Club, the Advanced Placement program, and Academic Decathlon.  She has received recognition as a Fabulous Falcon, honor roll, and for her participation in Academic Decathlon.  Christine plans to attend the University of California, Berkeley to pursue a degree in psychology and one day earn a PhD in the area of psychology.  She would like to thank her guidance coordinator, Mrs. Chavez, and her teacher, Mrs. Foltz, for their guidance and inspiration.  She would also like to thank her grandfather, Mr. Mauricio Hernandez, for his kindheartedness, sincerity, and wisdom that has been a source of strength to her.  She would also like to thank her aunt, Sharlene Hernandez, and uncle, John Howse, for all their love and care.







#3 GERARDO OROZCO-FERNANDEZ 4.1905 GPA

Gerardo Orozco-Fernandez is the son of Gerardo and Adelina Orozco.  Throughout high school Gerardo has been involved with a local youth group—Genesis: Grupo de Jovenes Adolecentes—National Honor Society, Key Club, Chess Club, and the Advanced Placement program.  He has received recognition for being on the honor roll and received a Fabulous Falcon award.  Gerardo plans to attend the University of California, Riverside to pursue a degree in mathematics and one day become a math teacher.  Gerardo would like to thank his teacher, Mrs. Cloward, for her dedication and for guiding him through AP Calculus.  He would also like to thank his friend, Victoria, for being a part of his life and inspiring him to look to his future.







#5 JORGE DE JESUS SANCHEZ 4.1754 GPA

Jorge Sanchez is the son of Sara and Juan Manuel Sanchez.  While at Rubidoux High School, Jorge has been involved in tennis, basketball, Photo Club, Spanish Club, Interact Club, Class Council, Link Crew, the Video Club, National Honor Society, the Rubidoux Early College High School program, and the Advanced Placement program.  He has received recognition for his involvement in four years of tennis and basketball and was a Rotary Youth Leadership Award recipient.  Jorge plans to attend the University of California, Riverside to pursue a degree in biomedical engineering.  He would like to thank his teacher, Mr. Krapes, for the influential discussions in AP Psychology, and he would also like to thank his brother, Juan, who encouraged Jorge to excel in school and in life and has always been there when he needed him most.







#6 ZANDRA YVONNE GONZALEZ ROJO 4.1572 GPA

Zandra Rojo is the daughter of Graciela Gonzalez.  While at Rubidoux High School, Zandra has been involved in the Academic Decathlon, Interact Club, Science Club, the Advanced Placement program, the Rubidoux Early College High School program, and National Honor Society.  She has also participated in various volunteering opportunities such as Operation Santa, the Lunar Festival, and working with the Louis Robidoux Library.  Zandra has received recognition for her participation in the Rubidoux Early College High School program, received a Fabulous Falcon award, and the Singh Perfect Attendance Award.  Zandra plans to attend the University of California, San Diego and major in bioengineering and nanoengineering.  She would like to thank her mother and her uncle, Jesus Gonzalez, the two most influential people in her life for motivating her to do well in school, teaching her to never limit herself, and for supporting her dreams.







#7 ALLYSSA NICOLE CHAN 4.0614 GPA

Allyssa Chan is the daughter of Adrienne Berryman and Neil Chan.  While at Rubidoux High School, Allyssa Chan has been involved in softball for four years, is a part of the Rubidoux Early College High School program, the Advanced Placement program, Treble Choir, has been involved in class council, and was junior class president.  Allyssa has received recognition as a Fabulous Falcon and lettered in varsity softball all four years of high school.  She plans to attend the University of California, San Diego in hopes of pursuing a degree in biology and continue on to medical school in hopes of becoming a pediatrician.  Allyssa would like to thank her softball coach, Mr. Torbert, for cheering her on and pushing her to do her best in the classroom and on the field.  She would also like to thank her parents for believing in her and giving her that extra push when she needed it.  She credits her parents for influencing her to reach where she is today.






#8 VIRIDIANA RICO ROMERO 4.0609 GPA

Viridiana Rico is the daughter of Sergio Rico and Elda Romero.  While at Rubidoux High School, Viridiana has been involved in Photo Club, Academic Decathlon, Spanish Club, Class Council, National Honor Society, and the Advanced Placement program.  She has received recognition for her perfect attendance, for completing her first semester of college through the Rubidoux Early College High School program, and received second place at the Jurupa Unified School District Science Fair and second place at the RIMS Inland Science and Engineering Fair.  Viridiana plans on attending the University of California, Los Angeles where she plans to pursue a degree in biology and continue on to medical school to become a pediatrician.  She would like to thank her father whom she considers to be the most influential person in her life for giving her the motivation to continue reaching for her dreams, and her mother for always supporting her and being at her side when things got tough.






#9 KAYLAH GILBERT 4.0465 GPA

Kaylah Gilbert is the daughter of Robert Steele Gilbert.  Kaylah has been involved in the Theater Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, Photo Club, Literary Club, and has received recognition for being in the top ten of her class all four years of high school.  Kaylah plans on attending the University of California, Riverside and pursue a degree in journalism where she hopes to one day work for the Los Angeles Times.  Kaylah would like to thank her two teachers, Mr. Santiago and Ms. Cahoon, for being amazing teachers and inspiring Kaylah to do better for herself.  She would like to thank her father who inspired her to do well in life.








#10 CHELSEA NGUYEN 4.0398 GPA

Chelsea Nguyen is the daughter of Heidi (pronounced: “high-yen”) Nguyen.  While at Rubidoux High School, Chelsea has been involved in AVID, the Rubidoux Early College High School program, National Honor Society, UCR Upward Bound, Senior Class Council, French Club, Interact Club, Spanish Club, and was president of the Travel Club.  She has received recognition for her involvement in the UCR Upward Bound summer program, received an athletic letter in tennis, and the Singh Chevrolet Perfect Attendance Award.  Chelsea plans to major in biomedical engineering at the University of California, Riverside in hopes of attending medical school to pursue a career as a pediatric oncologist.  Chelsea would like to thank her mother who has inspired her to achieve her goals and for not only being the best mom but also a supportive friend.
