Alumni 1986 - TROY ADAMS, Adams Motorsports Park – Rubidoux, CA

From the time he was born, Troy Adams has been racing toward greatness. After all, it’s in his blood. His family opened Adams Kart Track, now Adams Motorsports Park, in Rubidoux over 50 years ago. It was the first African American owned racing facility in California and is one of the largest facilities of its kind in the western U.S. Troy has proudly represented Rubidoux by obtaining several recognition's for his commitment to the community such as the Riverside Chamber Of Commerce Ambassador of the Year 2006 and Top 51 People To Watch in Riverside by 951 Magazine 2007.

Troy is a Riverside native, attending local schools; Rustic Lane, Jurupa Middle and is a proud alumnus of Rubidoux High School – class of 1986, where he served as:
1985-86 ASB President, 1984-85 ASB At Large, 1984-86 JTPA Peer Counselor at RHS, JV Football, V. Basketball (Captain ’86) and V. Badminton teams, before moving on to California State University, San Bernardino. After obtaining his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Troy decided to live in the fast lane and became a NASCAR driver. From 1995 to 2002, Troy was one of only a handful of African American drivers on the NASCAR circuit. During his tenure as a driver, he took on a leadership role by speaking to African American youth about career opportunities in the racing industry in and outside of our community.

We are proud about his history and involvement with Inland Empire communities, serving a supporting numerous amounts of charitable organizations annually like: Donate Life, Cade Foundation, Children’s Foundation of America, D.A.D.S., JUSD local schools, and blood drives. In addition, Troy has dedicated his generous time and efforts to mentor several students in our community. He Co-Created Adams Kart Track First Job Program serving the local communities youth job needs by hiring hundreds of local kids throughout the years teaching them about job and life skills and continue with their education after graduating from high school; many have gone on to be very successful within the community.

As a Rubidoux native, Troy Adam’s has a goal and a mission:

GOAL: Keep kids out of the streets by mentoring the responsibilities of life at home, school and commitment to the community.

MISSION: As the inception point for professional driving careers spanning the spectrum from Indy Car, NASCAR, and the American LeMans Series to Formula Drift, SCCA and AMA SuperBike competition, our unwavering commitment is to the grassroots motorsports community and young drivers who want to be champions in life!

No matter what the future brings for this entrepreneur, Troy Adams will face it as he always does……pedal to the metal, throttle wide open and at full speed.
